عبارت IVA که مخفف عبارت Integrated Visual and Auditory می باشد و یک نوع آزمون بررسی پیوسته عملکرد یا CPT است که مخفف Continuous Performance Test می باشد ، در واقع آزمون IVA-2 یک آزمون Integrated Visual and Auditory Continuous Performance Test می باشد، به عبارتی آزمون IVA-2 یک آزمون بررسی عملکرد پیوسته توجه و تمرکز می باشد.

IVA-2 یک آزمون ۲۰ دقیقه ای پیوسته دیداری – شنیداری از انواع تست های CPT می باشد.
۲ دقیقه ابتدایی صرف آشنایی با آزمون، ۱۶ دقیقه تست های آزمون و ۲ دقیقه آخر به منظور ارزیابی اعتبار آزمون بوده که مرحله آرام سازی نام دارد.
در مرحله اصلی آزمون ۵۰۰ محرک دیداری و شنیداری ارائه می شود. این آزمون دو عامل اصلی یعنی کنترل پاسخ و توجه را مورد ارزیابی قرار می دهد. آزمون برای افراد ۶ تا ۹۶ سال قابل اجراست.

آزمون IVA-2 بر مبنای راهنمای تشخیصی و آماری اختلالات روانی DSM-V تدوین شده و به تشخیص و تفکیک انواع ADHD شامل نوع کمبود توجه، نوع بیش فعالی (تکانشگر)، نوع ترکیبی و نوع ناشناخته (NOS) می پردازد.
از جمله مزایای آزمون : به درمانگر در تشخیص دقیق کمک می کند، انواع دقت بینایی و شنوایی و تکانشی بودن را اندازه گیری می کند، بهترین سبک یادگیری کودک را آشکار می کند و به دلیل برخورداری از ثبات بالای آزمون – آزمون مجدد به درمانگر کمک می کند تا اثر درمان را بررسی کند. همچنین از اجرای آسان و تفسیر آسان برخوردار است.
